Description
This session explores the use of autoethnography, I-poems, and Feminist Relational Discourse Analysis (FRDA) as qualitative methods that move beyond conventional data analysis to engage deeply with lived experience. We will consider the ontological and epistemological implications of these approaches, reflecting on how they shape our understanding of knowledge, identity, and relationality. Particular attention will be given to I-poems as a creative tool for illuminating contrapuntal voices within data analysis, offering a way to capture multiplicity, emotion, and subjective positioning. Through discussion and practical engagement, we will also experiment with constructing our own I-poems, exploring their potential in research.
