Activity: Academic Talks or Presentations › Conference Presentation › Research
Description
This presentation explored the intersection of Botulinum Toxin Type A (BoNTA), mood, and perimenopause, with a focus on qualitative research as a tool for understanding patient experience in aesthetic practice. Drawing on emerging data and personal clinical inquiry, Elaine Williams highlighted the nuanced emotional and psychological shifts reported by perimenopausal women following BoNTA treatment. The session emphasised the critical role of nursing curiosity in driving research, showcasing how aesthetic nurses can engage with qualitative methodologies—such as journaling, case studies, and collaborative inquiry—to contribute to an evidence-based and person-centred approach in aesthetic medicine. The presentation served as both a call to action and a guide for practitioners interested in integrating research into clinical practice.
