Description
September’s Café Scientifique was presented by Dr Declan Ryan, Associate Professor in Physical Activity and Health at The University of Northampton. This talk examined Declan’s work with Northampton’s Active Quarter and the partnership of local people and organisations.
Our parks have seen a decline in public funding over the past decade even though they are a vital place to support our local communities. To promote Northampton’s Parks, Northampton’s Active Quarter was formed as a partnership to make our greenspaces easier and more enjoyable to use. Collectively, the partnership has secured over £1,000,000 of funding for our local parks. Declan, from the University of Northampton, will talk about the partnership and how they are working with residents to make sure parks have a prominent role in peoples’ lives for years to come.
