Creative solutions to common group work problems

Description

We have seen similar groupwork issues (such as communication and negotiation) arise again and again across the university. Our aim has been to engage students to help us to break this cycle and prevent some of these issues developing and impacting on student assessment overall in the future. We have investigated collaborative tools and workshop approaches to help with regular group meetings, managing effective workflow space and enabling transparency. It is anticipated that these tools will aid in bringing together students who have busy lives and commitments and may not be able to meet in person, to organise their teams. This talk gives an overview of this research journey and employs an interview with a Faculty tutor who has been involved with some of our studied student groups.
