Developing your research career: Funding and networking

In this session we will explore how to develop your research career, particularly in regard to building networks and securing research funding. Bidding for funding and networking are crucial elements in the academic journey and are very important to building your career, whether you are a PGR, ECR or a mature researcher. Most career progression schemes will assess researchers on their income generation and international standing, and so developing these areas whilst in the early-phases of your career can be very beneficial to building your research profile and CV. This session will introduce participants to the types of funding available and strategies for bidding, as well as avenues for networking and building your research profile.
