Findings from the Memory Hubs evaluation: Implications to support community service provision

Activity: Academic Talks or PresentationsWebinarResearch

Description

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and Northamptonshire Carers have collaborated to establish eight Memory Hubs across Northamptonshire since 2021. This evaluation reviewed two of the flagship sites and explored the impact of this innovative service for those who attend, those with a diagnosis of dementia and their family. The Memory Hub was found to offer a unique service in Northamptonshire that is providing numerous benefits for those who attend and deliver the service. The uniqueness comes from the ability for family carers and the person living with dementia to attend together, reducing concerns and anxieties that can come with separation. Alongside the value of this service, the evaluation also identified ways that the service could deliver a more integrated approach. Through a comparison with other community provision in the UK, this evaluation offers learning that could inform other community service provision.
