Description
This event will mark the launch of Desistance and Children: Critical Reflections from Theory, Research and Practice. The book brings together contributors from academia, policy and practice to consider whether and, if so, how ‘desistance’ thinking – a body of knowledge about how people move away from offending – applies to justice-involved children. Desistance thinking has been transplanted from adult criminal justice to the youth justice system in recent years, with little debate about whether it is relevant to the lives of under-18s. This book is the first to consider and critique its application with children.Period | 19 Sept 2024 |
