Hiking trails, slow tourism and the sustainable development of the Calabria region in southern Italy.

Description

A wild and unspoiled natural heritage, a collection of unparalleled cultural, historical, architectural, and archaeological sites, and a largely untapped tourist potential. In the Calabria region, the offering of Ways and Paths represents a hidden treasure. It's an offering capable of meeting the new trends in global tourism demand, based on the slow enjoyment of places, engaging the minds and bodies of people. It's a proposal based on walking itineraries to be undertaken individually or in groups, in the open air, in contact with the territory and local populations, discovering and appreciating typical products, culture, and traditions.

With this speech we aim to reflect on the opportunity of sustainable mobility and tourism as a new opportunity for territorial development.
