I have been invited by Leicester Print workshop to undertake a residency to make a series of artefacts (Prints) working with the bequeathed estate of the renowned illustrator Suzanne Balkanyi.These are her copper and zinc etching plates.The thematic for my work is exploring ideas of loss, memorialisation and honouring what has gone before while producing an extended and reiterated body of work.
Loss and concepts around afterness are an expansion from my residency at west Yorkshire print workshop.
Being able to work in a professional Print Workshop opens opportunities of new dialogues both technically and conceptually while working alongside other practitioners and staff.
The final work will be exhibited in 2024
