Within the broad topic of the INVTUR 2024 conference, this session addresses the conference aims by fostering the debate on the interplay between tourism and the worldwide promotion of a culture of peace. The discussion will be developed in the perspective of the SDG16+, emphasizing the holistic and interconnected nature of sustainable development efforts, here related to the creation of a more peaceful world.
The thematic session seeks submissions that attempt to address the following key issues, including (but not limited to) the following themes:
•Role of tourism in the process of reconciliation and conflict transformation
•Managing war museums, peace museums, and war-related attraction for peace.
•Tourism and intercultural dialogue for the promotion of a culture of peace
•Tourism and neo-colonialism
•Tourism and human rights
•Effects of Ukraine war on international tourism
•Tourism and reconstruction in post-conflict areas.
