Description
Me: How are you feeling? You: A little bit grey

The presentation explores the experiences of perimenopausal women, ageing and the impact of Botox on mood. The focus of this auto ethnographical research is to explore experiences of peri menopausal women, through listening to their voices and their narratives using an interview approach.
The women choosing to participate in this study, will have had treatment with Botox facial injections and will also have experienced mood changes during this time; including feeling low, anxious and reduced confidence. This is compounded by 'brain fog' and losing one's ability to find the right words.
Through the reflexive nature of of this study, I am able to explore personal narratives and engage critically with scholarly literature. By foregrounding my own experiences alongside those of the participants, this study aims to unveil the complexity of the experience of women transitioning through menopause, and the socio - cultural - political aspects of women and ageing. By centring the narratives of the participants, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the nuanced ways in which women navigate the intersection of ageing, emotional well being and tweakments.
Perceptions of ageing are explored, and preliminary data suggests that women feel invisible, ignored and a little bit grey.
