Sexual and Criminal Exploitation amongst the student population - Conference and commemoration.

Description

The Criminal Justice Team would like to welcome staff to our commemoration and conference titled Criminal and Sexual Exploitation and the Young Adult Population. The event takes place on Friday the 1st of August in the Townhall of the Creative Hub from 9.30am to 4.45pm. Join us to remember Kwabena Osei-Poku a student who sadly lost his life in 2023, we will be joined by his family to pay tribute to his memory. The aims of the conference are to explore what works in addressing exploitation vulnerabilities for this age group. We will be joined for the day by subject matter experts, those with lived experience, police, and academics to explore the issues further. The afternoon session will take the form of a round table event allowing speakers, local criminal justice stakeholders and delegates an arena to discuss whether this age group is overlooked, whether more can be done to support them and what services exist locally to do this.
