Description

The presentation looks at the functions of pet ownership - e.g. projection, sociability, surrogacy. It reports on a study undertaken at an FE/HE college investigating attitudes and interaction with pets of FE/HE students. The study found that: - the modified survey had very high internal reliability. - There was no significant difference in score according to age group. - There was a highly significant difference between log transformed attachment score by gender. - There was a highly significant difference between log transformed attachment score by pet type.
