Description

This paper will aim to provide an understanding of the researchers own experience when working with vulnerable participants. The doctoral research project, which gave bereaved parents an opportunity to talk about their lived experience when involved in medical decisions for their critically- ill baby, has given the researcher valuable insights into approaching a topic of this nature.
The discussion will focus on the importance of obtaining ethical approval and of personal development. It will also make suggestions on how to approach and work with participants in an ethically sensitive way.
