The reliability and suitability of different foot positions for standing balance assessment in older adults with differing cognitive function dataset

Dataset

Description

The dataset in the excel spreadsheet depicts the raw data for the balance measures and perception of stances in the first tab, and MoCA scores and TUG test in the second tab, recorded in a single laboratory session over a 2-hour period. The balance measures lasted for approximately 45-minutes, whilst the MoCA lasted for approximately 10-minutes and the TUG test lasted for less than 30 seconds.

For the balance measurements, data for each foot position (column A) are separated into the eyes open condition for AP path length trials in columns B, C, D, with ML path length trials reported in columns E, F, G, and the eyes closed condition for AP path length trials in columns H, I, J, with ML path length trials in columns K, L, M. Perception of stances data are in column N, MoCA data are in column O, with Mean TUG times in column P.

The equipment and software used to measure and collect the data for the variables listed in the spreadsheet are listed in the word document with all abbreviations reported in full.

The dataset files will be made available on publication of the associated journal article.
