Description of impact
The University of Northampton and Sungkyunkwan University have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in academic exchanges, joint programme development and student exchange.This includes:
A) an exchange of teaching and research personnel;
B) an exchange of students. Specifically postgraduate researchers:
i.Masters students (mainly in their final semesters/terms);
ii.PhD researchers seeking collaborative research opportunities and work experience in both institutions.
C) the exchange of research activities, including:
i. Joint research projects, especially focused on social entrepreneurship and social innovation;
ii. joint research funding bids to academic, government and NGO funders;
iii. creation of PhD studentships;
iv. support for research elements in Masters programmes;
v. hosting of joint conferences and/or attendance at each institution’s research events
D) exploration of collaboration at course level, for example articulation arrangements, specifically:
i. examination of Masters and PhD theses;
ii. external examiner roles for academic staff on relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses
E) Support with business development activities, especially around social entrepreneurship/social enterprise. Notably:
i.Mentoring, knowledge exchange, business support, and other business activities.
F) Any other activity of mutual interest
