Biography

Amy Cortvriend's research focuses on the victimisation of refugees and asylum seekers. In particular, she focuses on how experiences of victimisation shape psychological stress and coping mechanisms, and how identity is central to understanding the dynamics of victimhood. Her PhD thesis was titled A Place of Safety? Victimised Women, Asylum and a Stigmatised Identity and was funded by the University of Manchester.
