I specialise in developmental psychology, with a focus on how children learn and communicate, questioning whether our education systems support this development for every child. I am aim to study and Identify both barriers and pathways to educational and developmental success.
I completed my undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies at the University of Liverpool. My PhD, funded by The ESRC International Centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD) , explored the connection between language and object cognition.
I later worked as a researcher on a Nuffield-funded project at the University of York, investigating how language contributes to the transmission of educational inequality. I’ve also contributed to large-scale developmental studies, including the ManyBabies project and the Language 0–5 project.
Now based at the University of Northampton, I teach across developmental psychology modules and continue to explore how language and cognitive development shape children's educational outcomes.
