Colin is currently studying for a PhD, his thesis is about alternative delivery models of children’s services, such as a children’s trust. Colin is an experienced Director of Children’s Services and has over 20 years public sector experience and has been Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust for over 5 years.
Colin has many research interests which all centre on how to deliver the best services and support for children, young people and families. Before working in the public sector Colin changed career from commercial management where he undertook a number of commercial roles in the UK, USA, Europe and then Asia. He was inspired whilst doing voluntary work in Asia and the UK, when he decided to commit his career to helping children and then qualified to MA level. Colin has a proven track record in improving Children’s Services and gets up in the morning to make a sustainable difference to the lives of children, young people and families through enabling colleagues and ensuring delivery of the best possible services.
He asks everyone he works with to do the best job of their life, every single day, because children, young people and families deserve nothing less . Colin enjoys support work in his local community and was a football coach for in the community for over 10 years which is very rewarding. He has enjoyed working with the players and he says it was great to watch them grow and develop their skills from 5 years old to 18 years old.
