Doaa Al-Jamal is a Senior Lecturer and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with over 11 years of practical experience in Accounting and Finance, including nine years of teaching at UK higher education institutions.
Currently, she serves as the Deputy Head of the Accounting and Finance Department for postgraduate studies, where she plays a crucial role in curriculum development, academic leadership, and quality assurance. She is the Programme Leader for the MSc in Accounting and Finance and a former leader of the MSc in Corporate Governance & Leadership course, she has been instrumental in shaping program structures, conducting subject periodic reviews, validating new courses, and leading significant changes in the MSc Accounting and Finance and DBA approval processes. She serves as an Academic Integrity Officer at the Faculty of Business and Law, upholding ethical standards in research and assessments. With her outstanding dedication and contributions, she was nominated by her peers for the University of Northampton People Award 2024.
As an expert in International financial and non-financial reporting, Doaa Al-Jamal leads multiple accredited modules across levels 4 to 7, aligned with professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, IFA and ICAEW. As an External Examiner, she ensures the maintenance of academic standards across undergraduate and postgraduate modules at levels 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 at UK universities such as Sussex, Bedfordshire, University College Birmingham, and the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
As a supervisor for DBA and PhD (UK) research students with 2 completions, she mentors scholars in advancing knowledge within the field of Accounting and Finance. Additionally, she contributes to the academic community as a research reviewer for the British Accounting Review and the Journal of Financial Accounting and Reporting, and as a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Financial Market Studies (AJFMS).
