Worked in industry (NPC), Research Associations (PRA and BNF) and Academia (Trent Polytechnic,Nottingham University and North Dakota Sate university ) before joining University of Northampton on the permanent staff in 1999

Scholarly Activities/Staff Development

• Elected Member of Higher Education Academy
• PhD/MPhil examiner for University of Swansea and for University of  Manchester
• Editorial Board Member: Journal Corrosion Engineering, Science and Technology  – also Conference Reporter/reviewer for same journal-regularly review annual EuroCorr conferences and anti-corrosive organic corrosion conferences
• Technical Secretary to Institute of Corrosion
• Writes regular Technical Topics article (titles like “Corrosion in Concrete”,  “Electrochemical Methods – are they any use?”, “Corrosion and Health”) in Corrosion Management, the Journal of the Institute of Corrosion

Administration

• Member of ISO committee TC 35 SC9 WG 29 developing standard for examination of anti-corrosive paints using AC Impedance (ISO 16773)

• Over 70 publications mainly in the field of Coatings/Corrosion protection. Co-edited 2 books. Co-Organised several conferences in the field
• Research at University of Northampton on Corrosion & Coating. Presentation of papers at Symposiums & Conferences (world-wide). Special area: Interpretation of electrochemical response of coating on metals using techniques like AC Impedance(EIS) & Electrochemical Noise method (ENM).
• PhD completion and MPhil completion under his supervision
• TCS Scheme Pronto Paints successfully completed
• Involved in Erasmus-Socrates Exchange scheme with Technical University of Gdansk (inc. running research project in collaboration with industrial company)
