Biography
Dr Hayley Henderson is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and educator with a career spanning nearly two decades in higher education. With a PhD from Bournemouth University and a solid foundation in computing and business, she has built a reputation for excellence in teaching, curriculum design, academic leadership, and international education partnerships.
Currently serving as Deputy Head of Subject (Business) at the University of Northampton, She has successfully led the redesign and enhancement of both the MBA and BA Human Resource Management programmes, ensuring alignment with industry needs and academic standards. Her leadership extends across quality assurance, staff development, curriculum innovation, and student experience, both locally and globally.
Dr Hayley Henderson has held multiple key academic roles including Senior Lecturer, Programme Leader for the MBA, Academic Tutor, and Apprenticeship Manager, reflecting her versatile expertise across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her teaching is marked by inclusivity, global relevance, and a commitment to engaging diverse student cohorts, including international learners and those with additional educational needs. She has played a pivotal role in delivering UK HE programmes in partnership with institutions in countries such as China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the UAE.
An active researcher and published author, Dr Hayley Henderson’s scholarly work spans digital literacy, eSafety in education, and the role of virtual communities. Her publications have appeared in respected conference proceedings such as ECEL, ICERI, and PROVE, reflecting her interest in the intersections between technology, learning, and community engagement.
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and holds a PGCTHE, underlining her dedication to pedagogical excellence and the continuous advancement of teaching practice. Her multidisciplinary background—grounded in computing, business, and education—equips her to lead with insight, empathy, and innovation.
