Biography

Ivna joined the University of Northampton in 2013 and is currently Head of School of Marketing and Hospitality Management and a member of the senior leadership team in the Faculty of Business & Law.

Ivna's early career involved the delivery of corporate events in the third sector, as well as account management and business development roles in the third sector, advertising and event production. She embarked on a career in academia following successful completion of her Master's degree in Events Marketing Management at the London Metropolitan University in 2008 and has since taught on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in events, tourism and hospitality.

Ivna's primary area of academic expertise is event communications on which she has published since the start of her academic career. Her work within the School is focused on the performance of the academic portfolio of courses in marketing and hospitality management, with a specific focus on embedding authentic learning experiences that benefit both students' career development and their sense of belonging within these industries.

She has also recently been appointed as a Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Advisory Group member for the review of the Subject Benchmark Statement for Events, Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism which sets national standards for curricula in these subjects.

Outside of her work with the University, Ivna also holds a number of volunteer roles, including those of the Unit Management Trustee for the Northampton Sea Cadets (TS Laforey) and member of the Parents, Carers and Community Advisory Board at Wootton Park School in Northampton.
