Jack Hardwicke teaches on Health Sciences BSc (Hons) at the University of Northampton, specialising in Health Sociology. Jack graduated from the University of Winchester in 2018 with an undergraduate degree in Sociology. Jack is currently completing a PhD titled ‘Inside the peloton: An exploration into the culture of competitive road cycling with reference to masculinity, risk and injury, with a principle focus on concussion’.

Jack works primarily in the fields of Sociology and Psychology, as applied to sport, exercise and health. He is a qualified personal trainer and professional member of The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity. Research Interests

Jack’s current research interests sit mainly in understanding how sporting cultures and individual differences influence concussion management behaviours in athletes. Alongside this, he is also actively investigating the intersection of injury and masculinity in athletes, LGBTQ+ experiences in sport and physical activity promotion in community settings. He is mixed method and interdisciplinary in his research approach.
