Biography
Dr. Jieun Ryu is a Researcher in Social Innovation and Impact at the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact (ISII) at the University of Northampton. Previously, Jieun was a Lecturer in Business Entrepreneurship at the University of Northampton, and an Associate Fellow at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. Jieun completed her BAs in Chinese Literature, Political Science, and International Organization Studies in 2009; and MA in International Studies in 2011 at Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, South Korea. In 2017, Jieun completed her PhD at Warwick Business School. Jieun has been working in the social enterprise field as a researcher and business advisor for 10 years.
Research Interests
Jieun’s research focuses on conceptualization of social enterprise as a new organizational form at multi-organizational levels. Her research interests include 1) multiple stakeholders’ approaches to social enterprise and other relevant concepts – social innovation and sustainability; 2) socio-historical perspectives on the development of an organization; and 3) integrating business ethics into management.
