Personal profile

Biography

I am a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate at the University of Northampton with an academic and professional background in accounting, finance, and management. I hold a BSc in Accounting and an MSc in International Business and Finance (Distinction) from the University of Derby, where I was awarded the Derby Business School Prize for Academic and Research Excellence.

My professional experience spans global organisational contexts and includes management accounting and financial analysis roles across public and private sector environments. I have supported budgeting, financial performance reporting, variance analysis, and stakeholder engagement to inform evidence-based operational and strategic decision-making.

Alongside my doctoral studies, I maintain active professional development in finance and accounting, including certifications in financial analysis and accounting software such as Xero and Sage, as well as ongoing professional training aligned with management accounting practice. This combination of academic training and applied expertise informs my approach to practice-focused research and knowledge exchange.

Research Interests

My research interests have developed progressively across my academic and professional journey. My early academic work examined issues of corruption and financial reporting, which shaped my interest in financial accountability, transparency, and governance. At postgraduate level, my research expanded to macro-financial questions, focusing on government borrowing, public debt management, and their implications for economic growth within a comparative context.

Building on this foundation, my current research interests focus on corporate and sustainable finance, organisational resilience, and financial governance. I am particularly interested in how organisations develop, evaluate, and adapt financial strategies in response to economic pressure, regulatory scrutiny, and long-term sustainability challenges, with an emphasis on evidence-based decision-making and practice-informed insights.
