Biography
Nasir Kolade is a Lecturer in Accounting & Finance (Faculty of Business and Law) at the University of Northampton. Nasir’ is the Programme Leader of MSc Corporate Governance and Leadership. He joined the Accounting and Finance Division in 2019. He previously held an appointment as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) Business School, teaching courses such as Management Accounting, Strategic Management, and Financial Accounting.
Nasir completed his PhD studies at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) Business School, Accounting & Finance (focussing on Energy Economics and Finance). During his doctoral studies, he received awards from the OPEC-OFID. He also obtained an MSc in Energy Management from the University of Stirling, and a BSc in Economics from the Ekiti State University (Ekiti State, Nigeria). Furthermore, Nasir became a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2005.
Nasir’ is an active researcher in the field of International Energy Project Finance and governance (emerging economies). He likes to work with both undergraduate/postgraduate students researching diverse energy and petroleum issues, from the macroeconomic impact of oil price volatility to financial/project analysis of natural resources and energy ventures. His research interests include the following themes:
- International energy project finance
- Accounting and finance for energy and extractive industries’ activities;
- Corporate Social Responsibility/Corporate Governance
- Developments in international financial accounting and reporting, especially for energy and extractive industries;
- Financial management and strategy for national and international oil companies and;
- Accounting and finance in developing economies, with emphasis on governance, accountability and sustainable natural resources and energy development.
He has teaching experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, on courses such as corporate/financial reporting, management accounting, corporate governance. He is an Associate Fellow in Higher Education (AFHEA).
