Biography
Natasha is an Integrative Counsellor (MSc, BACP). She has research experience in the field of Health and Social Care and has worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Children and Youth (University of Northampton) between 2007 and 2008. Natasha is a member of the British Psychosocial Oncology Society (BPOS).
Research Interests
Natasha's research interests include:
- Psycho-oncology,
- Positive Psychology,
- Counselling
- Bereavement and loss
Natasha is currently undertaking a PhD study on: 'How cancer survivors experience the journey from despair to post-traumatic growth through the process of counselling'.
She is interested in qualitative research approaches to understand lived experiences and meaning-making, such as Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).
Natasha's recent master's dissertation (Counselling) focused on: 'How counsellors make sense of the experience of working with bereaved clients.'
Natasha's earlier master's dissertation (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) focused on: 'Young people's perspective of experiencing an impending transition to secondary school and university'. This research was based on Social Representation Theory, and Thematic Analysis was employed.
