Personal profile

Biography

I am a lecturer and researcher specialising in strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation. My research focuses on athlete development, with particular emphasis on training load management and maturation monitoring within professional football academies. I employ a mixed methods approach to explore the interplay between physiological development and performance outcomes. My academic interests lie in rehabilitation strategies and performance enhancement, aiming to bridge the gap between research and applied practice in elite sport settings.

Research Interests

I am actively engaged in research exploring training load and maturation monitoring within UK‑based professional youth soccer academies. My work focuses on understanding how growth and maturation influence performance, adaptation, and injury risk in elite young athletes.

I have a strong interest in interdisciplinary practice within sport, with particular emphasis on the integration of sport science, coaching, medicine, and performance staff to optimise athlete development. In addition, I have a keen research interest in strength and conditioning, especially as it relates to long‑term athletic development and performance enhancement in youth populations.
