Biography
Rachel Evenden is a certified Integrative Counsellor and PhD student and Member of the research group which explores the Study of Exceptional Experiences and Consciousness Studies (EECS) within the Faculty of Health & Society at the University of Northampton. She is part of an on-going research project which involves Experimenting with mediumship at the Arthur Findlay College research laboratory. Her role has been to explore the qualitative meaning in Mediums experiences from a well-being perspective. She has published work in the field of Clinical Parapsychology; from exploring Mediumship as a form of counselling to counselling for anomalous experiences to investigate the range and incidence of clients seeking advice for anomalous experiences (AE’s) and the training needs of student counsellors and clinical psychologists.
Research Interests
Her current PhD research will explore the anomalous experiences of the bereavement and the role of spirituality in end of life care. The data gathered will inform education and guidance materials to support, respectively, clients who are struggling with bereavement, and therapists who work with the bereaved.
