Biography

Doctoral Student and Associate Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Northampton.

Thesis Title: 'Neoliberalism and the Individual in the Contemporary Global Novel.'

Doctoral Research: My thesis explores fictional depictions of neoliberal discourse that are filtered through parody and satire to lampoon the concept of the 'self-made' individual. My project analyses how late-capitalist market totality propels the rise of uniquely modern and transgressive impulses in the work of Jonathan Coe, Martin Amis, Tash Aw, Don DeLillo, Aravind Adiga, and others.

Supervisors: Dr Rod Rosenquist, Dr Claire Allen, and Professor Paul Jackson.

Funding: In 2022, I was kindly awarded a studentship from the University of Northampton to study for a Higher Degree by Research Leading to a Doctor of Philosophy in English and Creative Writing.

Research Interests: contemporary literature, neoliberalism, postmodernism, world literature, economic literature, history and politics, literary theory.
