Research Interests
I currently have two active research strands that are primarily aligned with SDG 4 quality education and SDG 5 gender equality. First, my pedagogy research focuses upon disrupting the hidden curriculum and influencing the extent to which colleagues integrate curricula EDI in a manner that responds to macro and meso level agendas. This research impacts teaching practice and enhances the student learning experience within sport management and wider subject areas. The research contributes recommendations to enhance teaching practice and macro / meso level policy.
Second, my subject specific research focuses upon policy implementation and compliance in the sport industry, with a specific focus upon social and welfare issues in sport (e.g., gender equality, corruption).
Specific interest areas include:
- Diversity in the curricula and sport
- Sport management education
- Policy implementation
- Policy compliance
