In January 2022, the Active Quarter paper was resolved at West Northants Cabinet meeting. Within the minutes a note stated: "‘in-principle’ funding contribution from Public Health of a single payment £10k to support evidenced-based research, develop the Active Quarter (AQ) communication and engagement strategy and align AQ ambitions with WNC’s strategic priorities."

The University of Northampton are now engaging with local community groups to understand what their wants, needs, and opportunities are for their local greenspaces. The Active Quarter website has been updated and marketing materials have been created to raise awareness about the Active Quarter.
