Description
The development of core clinical skills is a mandatory requirement across the majority of our health programmes. To achieve proficiency, students need both clinical skills instruction and ample opportunities to practice, thereby gaining dexterity and confidence to become safe practitioners. Currently, practice opportunities are limited, and disparities in placement experiences affect the progression and attainment of some students. To ensure equal opportunities, we propose establishing a supplementary student-led clinical skills drop-in space. This facility would offer our students the chance to book a workstation equipped with supportive instructional materials, allowing for self-paced practice and skill development.
