Description
The ‘Our Class’ materials, designed by Rachel Maunder (UON) and Claire Monks (University of Greenwich), provide educators with evidence-informed materials to teach the Caring Friendships unit of the statutory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum. This project will evaluate the impact of the Our Class resources in 3 ways: 1) practitioner feedback on usage of the materials and changes to practice, 2) feedback from children who have participated in ‘Our Class’ lessons and 3) survey data on children’s friendships captured before and after engagement in the Our Class lessons to measure changes/improvements.

'Our Class' are educational resources for teaching primary school children (age 7-11) about friendships. They are designed to meet the statutory Relationships Education requirements on caring friendships. They have been designed by psychologists as a result of research into children's friendships. The project aims to evaluate how they are being used in schools and gain feedback from teachers and children.
