Description
Operation Nexus+ builds on the successful April 2025 simulation to deliver an ambitious, cross-disciplinary, real-world learning experience for students across Events, Hospitality, Marketing/PR, Criminal Justice, Policing, Sports Management, and Tourism at the University of Northampton. Based at Silverstone Circuit, the project will simulate the live coordination, crisis management, and subsequent investigation of a major public event. Students will assume professional roles in event operations, media response, guest experience, stakeholder liaison, investigation, team liaison, and more, tackling evolving scenarios in real time. This initiative aims to develop tacit essential skills for industry, enabling our students to be agile, industry-ready graduates through applied practice, collaboration, and reflection. In exploring this simulation pedagogy, the project will also connect with existing research and initiatives to consider the development of these experiences using emerging technologies including VR and AI.
