Optimising GEM Students’ Engagement through Curricula Inclusion: The Student Perspective

Project Details

Description

Whilst the cause of the BAME attainment gap is multifactorial, one underlying problem pertains to the lack of inclusive curricula. Adopting a mixed methods research approach, this study will conduct surveys and semi-structured interviews with UON GEM students. Underpinned by the engagement element of Universal Design for Learning theory, this research aims to optimise GEM students’ engagement through the enhancement of inclusive curricula. In addition to providing important insights from the student perspective, the research will contribute practical, student informed recommendations to enhance educators’ practice.
