The aims of the Orchard Project are:-

a. Work in partnership with North Northants Council and a local Community Centre to assist the Centre align their current dementia friendly practices with best practice to achieve a “centre of excellence” quality of offer.
b. To establish a PhD Studentship in conjunction with NNC and the local community centre to develop a model of support and outreach that can be potentially rolled out to other such services in subsequent years - a hub and spoke model of activity.
c. Develop a 12 month programme of activities/events which promote positive brain health and identify the early stages of cognitive decline
d. Evaluate the impact of attending the activities/events to ascertain the impact on behaviour change and engagement with local health care and related services.
a. Explore the barriers to access and engagement with local health care and related services in relation to support for those effected by a dementia diagnosis.
