Abstract
D. Scott Rogo was an outspoken rogue parapsychologist – at least, in my view he was. I mean these words in the most positive sense.
From the age of 16 he began writing and publishing on all things of interest to the parapsychology community. He produced hundreds of articles, various research papers, and most notably, writing 30 books by the age of 40 at his untimely death.
Unlike many parapsychologists who gain their initial degrees in psychology, physics and philosophy, and go on to post-graduate study in parapsychology and taking on university-based positions, Rogo did not follow this path. He had a childhood fascination in strange and exceptional phenomena, especially ghosts, throughout his life and continued to read and engage with scholars of psychical research and parapsychology, establishing his reputation for having an encyclopaedic knowledge of the genre
