Abstract

This report provides an overview of the progress, effectiveness and value of mental health street triage in Northamptonshire. Operation Alloy, as it is known locally, is a partnership between Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to better respond to people with mental health needs. The content of this report was informed by secondary analysis of police and NHFT statistical data as well as testimony from key individuals involved on the ground or in strategic oversight. Representatives from Leicester and Nottinghamshire police and local healthcare trusts also were interviewed to contextualise progress in Northants and to share key learning to aid its development.
