Abstract
An evaluation of how both Spearhead and Searchlight, as archetypes of far right and anti-fascist print media respectively, utilised arguments around democracy and defence in their construction of a form of Britishness. Also an examination of how this identity was used by both parties to try to mobilise their movements and realise the change they desired.
