Abstract

In educational research as in many other areas of study and investigation, the necessity to work in a manner that is ethical has long been given paramount importance. To work ethically is to ensure that the rights of individuals, communities and wider society are protected and this demands that educational researchers define the rights and responsibilities of those involved in the research process and determine the methods to be deployed that will serve the best interest of those parties. This chapter considers the specific issues associated with conducting culturally responsible research in an ethical manner
