Abstract

A general catalytic procedure for the cycloaddition of diazo amides to fullerene C60 in the presence of the three-component catalyst, Pd(acac)2–PPh3–Et3Al, has been developed. Depending on the reaction conditions, pyrazolinofullerenes or methanofullerenes are formed.
