Abstract

Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) is an emerging field that focus on integrating HRM functions and practices to support business sustainability. Adopting Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also amplifies employee engagement, providing organisations with a distinct competitive advantage. This chapter highlights the importance of GHRM in providing sustainable environmental solutions. This exploratory chapter will provide an introduction to GHRM and its initiatives in promoting environmental sustainability, it will further explore the concepts of GHRM, its advantages, challenges, and limitations. Additionally, the chapter will extensively examine strategies and practices integral to GHRM that contribute to environmental sustainability. Subsequently, recommendations for ensuring the successful implementation of GHRM practices and agenda for future academic research will be discussed. The conclusion of this study will highlight ways in which employees can actively foster and promote sustainable practices.
