Abstract

In today’s data-driven world, predicting future trends has become essential for businesses and organisations looking to stay ahead. Predictive analytics, which uses historical data to predict future events, is often celebrated as a tool that provides clarity in an uncertain world. Yet, prediction alone cannot drive meaningful change. Without a clear course of action (i.e., a prescription), predictions remain abstract, leaving decisionmakers to bridge the gap between what is likely to happen and what should be done about it. This is where prescriptive analytics enters the conversation, and the harmony between the two becomes indispensable.
