Abstract

Letters to Lucia is a play written by Richard Rose and James Vollmar, which considers the relationship of Lucia Anna Joyce, daughter of the Irish writer James Joyce with significant individuals in her life. These include her mother Nora Barnacle/Joyce, Nobel prize winning playwright Samuel Beckett, Kathleen Neel who was Lucia's fellow dancer in Paris, and James Joyce himself. The play also features the English artist Frank Budgen who was a close friend of the Joyce family. The play was performed by the Triskellion Irish Theatre Company The cast of the play was as follows Frank Budgen - Fraser Haines James Joyce - Gerry Molumby Nora Joyce - Deirdre O'Byrne Kathleen Neel - Bernadette Hart Samuel Beckett - Andrew Smith Musician - Colin O'Loughlin
