Text commissioned for the first edition of The dHOUSE Magazine, an experimental online publication.
From what I can remember, it hung directly above the table where we would eat. It was set within a faux, gilt-edged frame, and given the somewhat cramped living conditions of my childhood home on Delamare Road, I would often find myself in proximity to it, whether over the course of a particular day’s meal where it would hover over me, or in passing as I walked to and from the kitchen.
