Abstract
The current research spectrum is intensifying as vast majority of scholars attempt to discover the negative effects of Covid-19 on the hotel industry due to the immense loss the industry endured since 2020. Subsequently, the positive effects the pandemic has brought have been hugely neglected. This report attempts to explore the positive changes the pandemic has brought in the luxury hotel sector with examples of strategies employed globally. Based on evidences from existing academic research, magazines and newspaper clippings, two forms of strategies are identified and discussed; alteration of business models and utilisation of technology. It is evident that luxury hotels alter their business models by reinventing viable services and introducing new strategies. Furthermore, technology is utilised in different ways; through introduction of digital key cards, robot employees and other in-room and off-room technological tools. These strategies also play a key role in shaping future trends in the hotel industry which directly lead to future research opportunities.
