Premier League Kicks – Final Evaluation Report

Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned Report

Abstract

The evaluation of PL Kicks was undertaken by the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact (ISII) at the University of Northampton to examine the activities delivered and provide a comprehensive analysis to PL Kicks. This report presents the full evaluation of the PL Kicks Programme and includes: a literature review; methods; data collection and analysis; future improvements; and recommendations sections. The report showcases data collected between October 2021 and April 2022, including quantitative data (the ISII questionnaire) and qualitative data (semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and the implementation of Photostories). Overall, the ISII’s evaluation indicates that activities delivered by PL Kicks offers young people the opportunity to engage with positive role-models in a safe space. It helps young people to develop their social skills, their confidence and meet new people while improving physical health, and the sessions promote diversity and inclusion for young people and help them to build a sense of belonging to their club and to their communities and wider society.
