Abstract

RM Beam is a modular display typeface family, developed for Real Madrid CF’s Santiago Bernabéu superstore in central Madrid, Spain. This typeface was commissioned by studio ROAM and conceived as a visual interpretation of the recent renovations of the Bernabéu stadium by L35 Architects. The design references the stadium’s flowing façade and industrial materials, reflecting its architectural rhythm and materiality. Intended for use in supergraphics across a 700m² retail environment, RM Beam's modular structure supports a cohesive visual language that spans digital screens, walls, and fabric surfaces. The typeface family includes 12 fonts organised across weight, width, and slant axes to provide an extensive design space suitable for a diffrent spatial applications and scale requirements.
